GREETINGS! My Bella Gela!

AND THEN THERE WERE TWO!

GREETINGS!
IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT MY FINE BELLA GELA, AN ELECTRIC SCOOTER/MOPED
THEN YOU LIKELY HAVE AN INTEREST IN THEM.

AFTER GETTING THE FIRST ONE, THE SELLERS CONTACTED ME ABOUT A SECOND ONE THEY'D BOUGHT AND WOULD I WANT IT?  WELL, DARLING HUSBAND NEEDS HIS OWN SET OF WHEELS AND VOILA!  IT CAME TO BE!   DH HAS A NEW SET OF BATTERIES AND SHALL PROVIDE ME WITH A TEMPLATE THAT I MAY WORK ON MINE.  I KNOW, LUCKY GIRL AM I!

BELLA GELA NEEDS A BIT OF WORK.  APPARENTLY, WHEN THE DELIVERY FELLAS BROUGHT HER, THEY DROPPED HER ON HER SIDE WHEN THEY CAME THROUGH THE SECURITY GATES OF THE COMPLEX.   THINGS HAPPEN, AYE?

HOWEVER, I FOUND THROUGH SOME YOUTUBE.COM VIDEOS, PEOPLE WHO REPAIR THIS
TYPE OF PLASTIC WITH A SPECIAL TORCH. AND, THERE IS THE OPTION TO USE PLASTIC CEMENT TO SECURE ANOTHER PIECE OF PLASTIC BY FUSION ONTO THE FIRST PIECE.

AS I HAVE A FEW CRACKS LOCATED IN VULNERABLE PLACES, I PLAN TO ADD PLASTIC
TO THE BIKE TO HELP PRESERVE THE PLASTIC'S INTEGRITY AND PREVENT ADDITIONAL BREAKAGE BY ADDING STRENGTH..

ANYWAY, BECAUSE OF THIS, I NEED TO DO A LITTLE COSMETIC WORK TO HER, WHICH ACTUALLY INVITES CREATIVITY AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO PERSONALIZE MY SCOOTER!   I MAY ALSO ADD SOME OTHER DECORATIVE TOUCHES AND AM EXCITED TO THINK ABOUT WHAT THOSE MAY BE.  AS AN ARTIST, THE HARDEST PART IS TO CHOOSE WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH HER!

AFTER SPEAKING WITH AN EMPLOYEE OF THE MANUFACTURER, I LEARNED THAT PEPBOYS WOULD BE BEST TO FIND THE SILVER PAINT, I'D LIKE TO USE ON THE REPAIRS SHOULD I NEED THEM.  THANKS FOR THAT INFORMATION, JOHN.

IF YOU HAVE CUSTOMIZED YOUR MOPED, SEND ME A PHOTO!  I'D ENJOY LOOKING AT IT!  OR, F YOU WANT TO CHAT ABOUT OUR SCOOTERS, EMAIL ME AT

An EXCELLENT course on how to solder wires and what you need.

Update - Thursday

Update, today, Thursday, Jan 13

Well, after looking around the net, I found a nice online store with the parts I need! And, I found photos of the parts that broke for me.  It's pretty simple once you know what is broken!

The previous person to put this part onto the other part didn't line up the threads properly and when I tried to remove it, the end became or was lodged into the male 3 prong connection.  That's why it was lodged and why it broke when I tried to unscrew the piece.

http://www.electricscooterparts.com/wireconnectors.html  is a great online store that shows exactly the part that broke.  Apparently, the female part of my connector was stuck into the male end of the
3 Pin Inline Plug3 pin Inline battery charger plug with solder connection posts.
Item # CNX-505  AND

3 Pin Inline Port3 pin Inline battery charger port with solder connection posts on back side of connector.
Item # CNX-510

Not so bad, I think I can figure this out!

Today's goals will be to check all the connectivity of the various pieces.  As I added another scooter, exactly the
same as Bella Gela, for my darling husband, I have two to compare.   His came with brand new batteries so between the two, I should be able to come up with one good wiring set up and have two brand new sets of batteries and also a back up set...should I ever get too far out there!

With Ultimeter in hand...

more to come!

WEDNESDAY'S POST-

Here is the final photo of the Charging problem.  It's what it looks like with the wire pulled through the now tortured and broken end.
SEE THURSDAY'S UPDATE, PART FOUND, SOLDERING REQUIRED!

Battery cords and Charging! 12 Volt, 12 Amp, 4 battery system

tUESDAY-
Here is the cord that came with the Scooter.  It is damaged.  It looks to have been fabricated as there
is electrical tape at the right side taping these two ends onto the cord.

UPDATE:  THERE ARE STOCK PIECES TO ORDER AND THEY NEED TO BE SOLDERED ON.
I FOUND THE PARTS AT http://www.electricscooterparts.com/wireconnectors.html

I'D LIKE TO LEARN HOW TO DO THIS, I'VE SEEN IT DONE, IT'S NOT EXACTLY DIFFICULT, AND I THINK I HAVE A SOLDERING TOOL AROUND.   OR, IF I DON'T HAVE IT HERE, THEN
I MAY HAVE TO HIRE SOMEONE TO MAKE ME SOME NEW CONNECTION PIECES...AFTER I CHECK THE CONNECTIVITY OF THE EXISTING 4 CHARGERS AND CORDS I NOW HAVE AFTER THE PURCHASE OF DH SCOOTER!

Just as an aside.  I had one charger and it was connected to one end.  I ordered a second charger and when I removed one, that's when the plug came apart.  -

UPDATE, DO BE CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING THESE PARTS AS THAT'S HOW THE CONNECTOR END CAME OFF.  AND, ALWAYS UNPLUG THE CHARGER FROM THE WALL FIRST, THEN THE SCOOTER, THEN REMOVE THE CONNECTORS...IF YOU NEED TO.  I ORDERED A NEW CHARGER AND RECEIVED TWO MORE WITH DH SCOOTER. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET ONE GOOD CHARGING SET UP FROM ALL THIS.

Do the batteries charge better having this pigtail set up?
WHAT I LEARNED WAS THAT IT IS A MORE EFFICIENT WAY TO CHARGER AND DEFINITELY FASTER AS YOU ARE CHARGING ALL FOUR AT THE SAME TIME.

If you have anything you'd like to add, please email them to me at bellagelascooter@gmail.com and I'll post your information for others to be helped as well!

Many thanks!

This is the cord that came with my scooter.
The end at the left plugs into my Scooter.
The other end is comprised of two male ends that have been taped together.

This is a close up of the end with the two pigtails taped together.

As you can see, the bottom piece is damaged.  When
I tried to disconnect it from the charger, the metal end pulled off the black part. There was a short zap!
I forgot to remove the cord from the scooter. Don't do that!
